Project management

Track project health, team load, age exposure, filters, and exports.

The Project Management page helps project managers and admins understand open project load, revenue exposure, close timing, and project-level risk.

Who Can See It

The Project Management tab is visible to project managers and admins.

If you do not see it, your account probably does not have project-manager or admin access.

Header Controls

Control What it does
Team filter Shows projects assigned to one team.
Export Downloads the currently filtered open project list.
Refresh Reloads project and forecast data.

KPI Cards

Card What it means
YTD Revenue Revenue shown for the current year through the current month.
Open Projects Count of active projects that are not closed, completed, or canceled.
Total Exposure Open product and forecast-eligible labor dollars across active exposure projects.
Team Members Count of teams or team members represented in open project assignments.

YTD Revenue Chart

The YTD Revenue chart shows the current year's revenue by month.

It separates revenue into:

  • Product.
  • Labor.
  • New MRR.
  • MSP.
  • Private Cloud.
  • Public Cloud.

Click a bar to open Forecast Detail for that month.

Forecast Chart

The Forecast chart shows upcoming revenue months using the same category structure as the YTD chart.

Use it to see:

  • Which months are projected to be high or low.
  • Which revenue category is driving a month.
  • Whether upcoming revenue depends on forecasted project items.

Click a bar to open Forecast Detail.

Projects by Close Month

This panel groups open projects by estimated close month.

Use it to answer:

  • How much work is expected to close this month?
  • Are too many projects stacked into one month?
  • Which projects are missing a scheduled close month?

Projects without a usable close date appear as Unscheduled.

Team Load

Team Load shows work distribution by team or assignee.

Columns:

  • Name: team or person.
  • Projects: number of open projects.
  • Weighted: total complexity points.
  • C1: low-complexity project count.
  • C2: medium-complexity project count.
  • C3: high-complexity project count.

Use this table to spot overloaded teams and high-complexity clusters.

Exposure by Age

Exposure by Age groups open exposure by how long projects have been open.

Age groups:

  • 0-30 Days.
  • 31-60 Days.
  • 61-90 Days.
  • 91-180 Days.
  • 181-365 Days.
  • Over 365 Days.

Click an age group to open the project list for that group.

Open Projects Table

The table is the main project work list.

Columns:

  • Project.
  • Client.
  • Status.
  • Manager.
  • Complexity.
  • Close Date.
  • Product dollars.
  • Labor dollars.
  • Total dollars.

Use the status filter to focus on one project status. Use search to find a project, client, manager, or project number.

Click any project row to open Project Details.

Project Details

Project Details shows the project-level explanation behind a row.

Use it to review:

  • Project name and number.
  • Client.
  • Status.
  • Manager.
  • Product exposure.
  • Labor exposure.
  • MRR values.
  • Forecasting warnings.
  • Related product and labor details.

Available actions can include:

  • Open product details.
  • Open MRR phase breakdown.
  • Open fixed-fee phase details.
  • Open Labor Report.
  • Edit the project in ConnectWise.

Some actions are admin-only.

Labor Report

Open Labor Report from Project Details.

It shows fixed-fee and T&M labor side by side:

  • Sold dollars.
  • Budgeted hours.
  • Actual hours.
  • Actual cost.

Use it when a project's labor exposure or profitability needs explanation.

Best Weekly Project Review Routine

  1. Click Refresh.
  2. Filter by your team.
  3. Review Total Exposure and Exposure by Age.
  4. Open the oldest age bucket.
  5. Work through high-dollar or old projects first.
  6. Use the Open Projects table search to review key clients or managers.
  7. Export the filtered list for follow-up.
