Glossary

Plain-English definitions for revenue, projects, and application terms.

Agreement MRR

Recurring revenue from agreements. It is separate from new MRR coming from projects.

Age Bucket

A group based on how long a project has been open, such as 0-30 Days or Over 365 Days.

Billing Type

How project labor is billed. The most important distinction in Rev Tracker is fixed-fee versus hourly/T&M.

Confirmed Delivery Date

The date a product was actually delivered or should be treated as delivered for revenue timing.

Delivered

A product state meaning the product is no longer open product exposure.

Estimated Delivery Date

A planning date for product delivery when a confirmed date is not yet available.

Exposure

Revenue that is still open and needs to be watched. Product exposure usually means undelivered product value. Labor exposure focuses on forecast-eligible fixed-fee labor.

Fixed Fee

Labor sold for a fixed amount rather than billed hour by hour.

Forecast Detail

A monthly detail window that explains the revenue rows behind a month total.

Forecast Placeholder

A manually entered planning value used for a future month until actual source data is available.

Labor Snapshot

Dashboard card showing expected labor-related revenue by visible month.

Manual Forecast

An admin-entered forecast value for selected future categories, such as Non-Project HW/SW or On-Demand.

Manual MRR

Admin-entered monthly MRR values used when MRR mode is set to Manual.

MRR

Monthly recurring revenue.

MRR Mode

The method Rev Tracker uses to categorize recurring revenue. Options can include ConnectWise type, configured prefix, and manual values.

MRR Start Date

The date new recurring revenue should begin in the forecast.

Needs Forecasting

Dashboard list of projects with missing forecast inputs, such as product delivery dates, labor dates, labor amounts, or MRR start dates.

New Project MRR

Recurring revenue expected from projects, separated from existing agreement recurring revenue.

Non-Project HW/SW

Hardware/software revenue that is not tied to a project in the same way as project product revenue.

On-Demand

Revenue from on-demand work or WIP-style activity that may not be represented as project fixed-fee revenue.

Open Project

A project that is not treated as closed, completed, or canceled.

Product Snapshot

Dashboard card showing expected product revenue by visible month.

Project Details

The main project-level detail window. It explains a project's client, status, manager, product exposure, labor exposure, MRR, and available actions.

Project MRR

MRR tied to a project or project phase.

Revenue Pod

A monthly Revenue Summary card on the Dashboard.

Snapshot

A stored historical month value. Snapshots help preserve what a prior month looked like instead of recalculating it from today's live data.

T&M

Time and materials. Labor billed as worked rather than forecasted as fixed-fee exposure.

Total Exposure

Open product and forecast-eligible labor dollars grouped together for review.

WIP

Work in progress. In Rev Tracker, WIP-style values are used for certain current-month or on-demand labor calculations.
