Quick answers to the questions users ask most often.
Why can I see the Dashboard but not Project Management?
Project Management is only visible to project managers and admins. Ask an admin to confirm your role if you need access.
Why can I see a value but not edit it?
Most edits are admin-only. Regular users and project managers can review data, but admins control forecast settings and ConnectWise-facing writebacks.
How do I refresh the numbers?
Click Refresh Data in the top navigation. On the Project Management page, you can also use that page's Refresh button.
Why is a project in Needs Forecasting?
It likely has at least one missing forecast input:
- Product delivery date.
- Fixed-fee labor date.
- Fixed-fee labor amount.
- MRR start date.
Open the project to see which item needs attention.
Why did a project disappear from Needs Forecasting?
The missing date or amount was probably added, or the underlying project/product/MRR data changed after refresh.
Why did revenue move to a different month?
Common reasons:
- Product delivery date changed.
- Fixed-fee labor date changed.
- MRR start date changed.
- Manual forecast value changed.
- MRR mode changed.
- A historical snapshot is being shown for an older month.
Why does an MRR row show a warning icon?
The app is using a fallback date because it did not find an MRR start date. Review the project's MRR phase fields.
Why does my export not include every row?
Exports usually use the rows currently visible in the view. Clear search boxes and filters before exporting if you want the full list.
Why do two users see different pages?
Page visibility depends on role. Admins see more controls than project managers, and project managers see more than standard users.
Why does the logo or title look different?
Branding comes from tenant settings. Admins can update app title, company name, tagline, colors, and logo paths from Settings.
Does Rev Tracker replace ConnectWise?
No. Rev Tracker helps forecast and inspect revenue. ConnectWise remains the operational system of record for projects, products, phases, agreements, and many source fields.
When should I use Edit in ConnectWise?
Use it when the needed change is outside Rev Tracker's editable fields, such as project status, manager, phase setup, agreement setup, or other source record changes.
Why does the app show old historical values?
Some historical months can be locked as snapshots. That keeps prior month reporting stable instead of recalculating the past from current live data.
What should I do before a forecast meeting?
- Refresh data.
- Clear obvious Needs Forecasting items.
- Review current and next-month pods.
- Drill into any unusual totals.
- Export the revenue summary.
- Export detail tabs for categories that need discussion.
Who should change MRR mode?
Only admins who understand the current business classification approach should change MRR mode. Changing it can materially change forecast totals by bucket.
I changed something but the number did not update. What now?
Try this:
- Click
Refresh Data. - Reopen the modal or page.
- Confirm the change was saved.
- If the change was made directly in ConnectWise, wait for source data availability and refresh again.
- Ask an admin to verify whether cached or historical snapshot data is involved.
